...continued

This is the finished necklace, using the pieces drilled in the last blog
entry.

Creating when ill results in my making mistakes: this time was no exception. The flu had ( and has) me spaced out and bone tired but I was determined to finish this project by the deadline I'd set for myself.  After all, the actual design and drilling was finished. How difficult could the final  assembly be?

Well, it took the better part of the day to do, partly because organic shapes don't always string and hang the way we think they will, due to irregular shapes and minute differences in dimension that add up, resulting in a necklace appearing slightly off balance.

When the necklace was completed and tied off, I realized that a crucial pendant, right up front, had been overlooked. As a result of leaving it out, the entire design was skewed.

How could I have missed this?
Clearly, working when really sick results in my going on mental automatic - pilot, making mistakes because of weariness and physical discomfort.

Today, I dismantled the necklace and reconstructed it correctly.

  1. It's so beautiful! I love all the natural elements! I know you have your own set design in your mind, just wanted to let you know how beautiful it is, as is!
